If you want to open a business, I would suggest you:
- Major in business and minor in psychology or gain business education from continued education and work experience.
- Be computer literate in word processing, an accounting program, data processing and surfing the web.
- Hire an excellent, trustworthy accountant.
- Have a written business plan.
- Be organized--personally and in business.
- Show up and be on time for all appointments.
- Start small.
- Pay yourself first and save/invest 10% of each paycheck.
- Mentor your staff.
- Hire slowly and carefully and fire quickly, when necessary.
- Be active in the Chamber of Commerce and the community-participate and contribute.
- Meditate daily-at least 24 minutes (one minute for each hour of the day) alone and in silence.
