How to determine your skin type and define its characteristics:

LOOK at your facial skin in a mirror and answer these questions:

NORMAL SKIN:

Is your skin clear and soft with a good color? ___
Does it have enlarged pores? ___
Are there signs of flakiness or dryness? ___
Are there signs of oiliness on the nose, chin or forehead (T-zone)? ___

If the answer is "yes" to the first question and "no" to the others, your skin is NORMAL.

OILY SKIN:

Do you have a continuous shine on your T-zone? ___
Have you a tendency to get blackheads? ___
Does your skin seem to get dirty fast? ___
Does the texture of your skin seem coarse--not smooth and even? ___

If you answered "yes" to all the questions, your skin is OILY.

DRY SKIN:

Does your skin feel tight when washed with soap? ___
Do you have flaky areas, especially around the nose? ___
Does your skin chap easily in winter? ___
Does your skin burn easily in the summer? ___

If you answered "yes to these questions, your skin is DRY.

COMBINATION SKIN:

Is your skin dry and flaky in some areas? ___
Is your skin oily and shiny in other areas? ___

If you answered "yes" to both of these questions, you have COMBINATION skin.

SENSITIVE SKIN:

Is your skin sensitive to creams and lotions? ___
Do you get red spots on your neck when you rub it? ___
Is your skin allergic to many substances? ___

If the answer is "yes" to all these questions, you have SENSITIVE skin.
