Media Committee Guidelines

Objectives:

  1. Make the community aware of the good that media is doing and can do.
  2. Educate the community in how to get good news to the media.
  3. Provide the media with ideas to create more positive reporting, and entertainment.
  4. Prove the profitability of balanced reporting.
  5. Demonstrate effectiveness of people with a passion.

Guidelines:

  1. Meetings are open to individuals who are passionate regarding the positive ecucation of the public by the media.
  2. Meetings start and end on time.
  3. Time is divided equally among those present.
  4. Time is kept by timer and discussion stops when the bell rings.
  5. Only positive ideas and solutions to problems are discussed.
  6. Members choose their role (piece of the puzzle), in the performance of the routine tasks that assure the smooth functioning of a group, as well as in the additional actions and activities agreed upon by the committee.
  7. Changes in these guidelines are made as the committee sees the need to do so.

  1. Facilitation
  2. Data collection
  3. Actions/Decisions--scribe for acknowledgements
  4. Public Relations
  5. Award preparation and secretarial duties--letters, data processing, material up-dates
