Media Committee Guidelines
Objectives:
-
Make the community aware of the good that media is doing and can do.
- Educate the community in how to get good news to the media.
- Provide the media with ideas to create more positive reporting, and entertainment.
- Prove the profitability of balanced reporting.
- Demonstrate effectiveness of people with a passion.
Guidelines:
- Meetings are open to individuals who are passionate regarding the positive ecucation of the public by the media.
- Meetings start and end on time.
- Time is divided equally among those present.
- Time is kept by timer and discussion stops when the bell rings.
- Only positive ideas and solutions to problems are discussed.
- Members choose their role (piece of the puzzle), in the performance of the routine tasks that assure the smooth functioning of a group, as well as in the additional actions and activities agreed upon by the committee.
- Changes in these guidelines are made as the committee sees the need to do so.

- Data collection
- Actions/Decisions--scribe for acknowledgements
- Public Relations
- Award preparation and secretarial duties--letters, data processing, material up-dates
